Book review.
Dawn of steam: first light by Jeffrey Cook
A good intro to the steam punk Genre. The characters are well thought out and thoroughly English the point of Fascism. The main character and his side kicks became anti heroes to me as I wanted to see their superior snooty arses kicked, but rule Britannia.
The story itself was well written and thought out, the downside, and why it got only three stars was the slow, ponderous and repetitive nature of the telling.
If you like Verne, then this is better written and easier to access, but if you like fast action, this will let you down.
I’ll say, finally, this book could have been so much better, with a little more editing and a faster paced story.
