If you pick up this free Zombie book on Amazon then you won’t be disappointed, if I’d paid for it I still wouldn’t have been disappointed.
After 2 pages, on the first attempt, I put this book down firstly because it’s told in the present tense, which is a personal dislike and secondly, because the poor editing and failure to use the present tense correctly. I checked the reviews online and gave it a second read and boy was I glad I did.
This Zombies novel is as good as I’ve read, shades of Marc Tufo at times and that’s not a bad thing. The action is fast and compulsive, the characters realistic and heart felt. The story an excellent twist on a well-used genre.
Please give it a try, if you like zombie, then this is good.
My main gripe, is that this cracking book could well have had 5 stars with a little editing and basic grammar check.

As you might have already seen, I’m fast becoming a fan of Mr. Lazlo; his dark, skeptical view of the world fits in perfectly with this novel. ‘Left alive,’ is a post apocalyptic zombie thriller, of the best kind. It is set in an empty, distraught, spiteful world; one that seeps through people skins and turns them into Zombies. A genetic project that went horribly wrong has ruined the world.
This is perhaps the darkest and most demoralizing Zombie book I’ve read, I loved it. No, big love interest and a new society, no, just death, death and more seething death. It’s hard to see how there will be a happy ending in this one. But who reads Zombies for happy endings?
I’d recommend this novel to anyone who likes the dark side, don’t expect a laugh a minute and you won’t be disappointed.
